The all-island public procurement market is worth approximately £10.4bn/€12.1bn. This represents an untapped market for small firms to increase their sales and win steady business. However, there is a lack knowledge about how to access the required information and how to put together a winning bid. There are significant opportunities for small organisations to break into this lucrative market. I’m now going to try and give some useful tips to help you find tendering success. **What is tendered?** All products and services are tendered across all Public Bodies in Northern Ireland. As an example, below is a copy of Belfast City Councils procurement policy which is similar to rules across Northern Ireland. You can register as a supplier on these platforms to receive alerts of upcoming tender opportunities in your relevant sector. Therefore, you don’t need to keep checking if you enter the types of tenders that you are interested in at the start of the registration process. You can also find a wealth of information and advice on these sites.
